Walk on Mahinepua Penisula

Another fabulous day. Following suggestions from our Ahipara host, we stopped for morning coffee at Manganui on Doubtless Bay. The scenery here is picture postcard perfect. Views continued as we drove.Swung off the main highway towards Whangaroa and Tarangua Bay then dropped down to Mahinepua Bay where we had a picnic on the beach and then went for a walk along the Mahinepua Penisula. A two hour walk with stunning views and some steepish climbs. This is what we came to New Zealand for.

After the walk Aenea had a well-earned swim. Then it was on to Paihia on the Bay of Islands. This is much more on the tourist track than the places we've been to so far but very picturesque. Dinner in a restaurant on the wharf.
